Formed in 2015, Redboot is: Bassist Russell Sholberg, Accordionist/Vocalist/Composer Alison Jenkins, and Violinist/Vocalist/Composer Amelia Rose Slobogean. 

 

Playing original music and cover tunes with equal parts verve and style, Redboot is equally at home onstage in a theatre, at a music festival, or in an intimate house concert. 

 

When Amelia Slobogean receieved a grant in 2011 to compose some instrumental music, she knew she eventually wanted to perform it with two musicians she'd worked with in Vancouver: Russell Sholberg and Alison Jenkins. Thanks to another Yukon Artist Award grant in 2015, Slobogean was able to see that wish fulfilled: the two musicians spent a week with her in her hometown of Whitehorse, YT, and  the trio workshoppd her original pieces and performed them to an appreciative audience. 

 

Now this long-distance trio has just completed their first album together in June 2015. Recorded on Bowen Island with award-winning recording engineer Shael Wrinch, Redboot's album is available for purchase on Bandcamp. The trio hopes to tour in the summer of 2016.
